Additional Linking Tools

When you click on the gear icon, you will see several other options that will help you to utilize the admin platform in useful ways so that can save time in the linking process.

This tool automates the linking process for you so that you do not have to manually link your entire edition. Especially if you have a large catalog, this tool can be run quickly and grabs links in seconds.

To use this tool, click on the gear icon, then click Advanced Links Recognition in the drop down menu. You will see the box below pop up:

Click Create Web Links From URL, create Email Links From URL, create Phone Links, import Links From PDF then press Proceed. This will pick up any links from the PDF or links in the text of the edition.

This tool is if you have SKUs, such as for eCommerce editions. To use it, you will give the tool a pattern to look for and it will automatically link all the SKUs in that pattern.

You can filter the link recognition by page range or font type.

Copy Links

You can copy links from one edition to another by using this tool. This is useful if you have a lot of links in the original edition that you would like to copy to the new edition, without having to redo all the links manually.

To use this tool, click Copy Links. When the box pops up, you will see the Source edition (that's the old edition) and the Target edition (the new edition):

Choose which Source edition and Target edition you need to copy links from and to, what page the links should start on, and press Copy Links. Once it is done, you will receive confirmation and close this window.

Import Links from File

DCatalog's "Import Links from File" is an automatic linking option that streamlines linking SKUs to product pages and helps you save hours of manual labor! This Enterprise feature works as follows:

  • Access through the Multimedia manager>Gear Icon>Import Links From File (as shown below).

You will see the admin window pop up:

Format your CSV file as such: SKU number in Column A + Product URL in Column B. Make sure to create a header in row one, to specify that Column A is for the SKU, product ID, item number, etc. and Column B is for the Product URL.

If you need to reuse the same file, after making updates to it, use the drop down menu to select the existing CSV file option.

Save the CSV file as a CSV UTF-8, as shown below):

Upload the CSV file into DCatalog within this dialog and select "Import."

Now your SKUs are linked to their product pages!
