Will we need to add a new Google Analytics Connection for every new edition created?

If you have already created and added your G4 ID number when you set up your first template, there is no need to add the G4 ID again. (If you have not yet done this, click here).

You will only need to set up the tracking ID for each NEW template created under “Advanced Features” from the “Design Template.” The same tracking ID can be used across multiple templates if desired. Editions uploaded under the same template will be automatically assigned to the G4 tracking ID associated with the template.

Setting Up Google Analytics for Your Flip Books under a single template

  1. Obtain Your Tracking ID

    • After setting up your property, Google Analytics will provide you with a Tracking ID (a string such as G-XXXXXXX). This ID is essential for linking your flip books to Google Analytics.

  2. Add the Tracking ID to Your DCatalog Template

    • Each time you create a new template in DCatalog, you’ll need to connect it with Google Analytics by adding your Tracking ID.

    • Navigate to your DCatalog dashboard and open the Design Template, and select your specific template from the dropdown.

    • Navigate to the “Advanced Features” tab within the Design Template, and locate the “Google Analytics Account” field (it will be the first field shown in the section)

    • Paste the Google Analytics Tracking ID into the designated field.

    • Save your changes. Your template is now connected to Google Analytics, allowing you to monitor user interactions and gather valuable data.
